Melody Nova

Nurturing even the smallest details.

About me

I'm Melody Nova, formerly Melody Condon (hi, old friends and coworkers!), but people say this name makes me sound like a superhero. According to one of my old managers, I'm "expandable foam" because I fill all the gaps, even ones you didn't know were there. I guess that's a decent superpower. (I'd rather teleport, though.)

Areas of a bit less expertise

I enjoy and have an aptitude for these things.

Website management

I can interpret the basics of HTML and CSS, have built several websites and blogs WYSIWYG-style (and one in Dreamweaver from scratch), understand and can work within CMS constraints, and have often acted as a liaison and interpreter between developers and creative team coworkers.

From checking color contrast and drafting alt text to troubleshooting for and ensuring proper tagging in PDF documents, I've steadily added to my accessibility toolkit. This is important to me, and accessibility helps everyone. I advocate for the added effort and time and have trained my coworkers in some of the key processes.

I have planned a few large charity fundraisers that earned over $10,000 each, once entirely on my own and a few times as part of a team that ended up funneling all of the digital administrative work (website, ticketing and QR codes, payment platforms, email promotion, volunteer coordination) to me. (I loved it.)

Video editing

Since I was in middle school making silly videos with my friends during sleepovers and in high school making music videos for the film festival, I've loved the editing part of the process. I've used Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve. I still do the occasional creative or charity project, and I also post my Zumba choreography online.
